Danville earns sweep in Madison County

GURLEY - Michael Veazey picked up his seventh win after keeping Guntersville in check before the Hawks’ bullpen finished up in a 15-14 victory.
Dakota Wilson had two singles and a double for the Hawks, while Bryan Rogers finished with three singles.
Danville 8, Madison County 5
Jake Mahathy, Smith and Cole Veazey each had two singles for the Hawks in an 8-5 win.
Danville 9, Falkville 0
Michael Veazey threw a shutout as Danville beat Falkville 9-0. He finished with four strikeouts in the win.
Roger Smith led the Hawks at the plate with a single, double and a home run. Parker Hogan added a triple for Danville.
Danville 12, Vinemont 0
Danville dominated Vinemont in a 12-0 victory as Randy Thomason and Bryan Rogers both drove in three runs for the Hawks.
Roger Smith and Thomason both finished with two singles. The Hawks also got hits from Parker Hogan, Rogers, Zach Ward and Schuyler Foreman in the win.
Hogan reached base four times after walking three times in the game.
Prep softball
Danville 10, Hanceville 9
Mallory George drove in five runs to lead Danville past Hanceville.
Britney Atkins struck out 10 and earned the win on the mound.
George finished with two doubles and a single for the Lady Hawks. Kelsey Bell singled twice and had a double with an RBI.
Hannah Little singled three times. Sarah Terry had two hits with a triple, while Michelle Smith, Regan Laroche and Kirby Wallace all had one hit each.
Falkville 15, Brindlee Mountain 2
Falkville had four players finish with two hits in a 15-2 victory over Brindlee Mountain.
Katelynn Smith had a pair of singles for the Lady Blue Devils and finished with three RBIs.
Sarah Goodman and Paige Mayer had a double and a single each, while Hillary Eason added a pair of singles. Mallorie Miner, Celeste Sharbutt and Katie Annerton added hits.
Annerton, Smith and Jessie Thompson combined on the 1-hitter with Annerton getting the win.
