Funeral for James McDonald, 76, of Decatur was Monday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Gunter.
Mr. McDonald died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 5, 1931, in Morgan County to Dock McDonald and Mattie Ramsey McDonald. He was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Decatur and was preceded in death by a son, Jerry McDonald; a daughter, Jean Pons; and a brother, Hal McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Campbell McDonald of Decatur; a son, Donnie McDonald of Decatur; two daughters, Joyce Ann Rider and Charlotte Rice, both of Decatur; two brothers, Billy Dock McDonald of Hartselle and J. D. McDonald of Cullman; three sisters, Arlin Edmondson of Danville, Lilly Jones of Tennessee and Linda Cooper of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Darrel Rider, Donnie Rice, Joe Taylor, Jim Rohr, Brannon Bray and Jason McDonald.
