Funeral for Mildred Simmons Reeder Appleton, 82, of Falkville was Monday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Shaneyfelt and Rev. Milan Dekich officiating.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mrs. Appleton died Friday, May 17, 2002 at her residence. She was a homemaker, a member of the Fairview Church of God and active in community service.
She was an avid quilter and gardener. She was the widow of Royal Reeder and Elmer Appleton. She was the mother of the late Darlene Chenault and the sister of the late Kathryn Hudson and the late Altha Shaneyfelt.
She is survived by three sons, Bruce Reeder of Odenville, Johnny Appleton and Danny Appleton, both of Moulton; one daughter, Marty Appleton Smith of Hartselle; one brother, Leroy Simmons of Falkville; two sisters, Louise Harden of Falkville and Dot Tomlinson Hudson of Pell City; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Pallbearers were Tommy Appleton, Waymon Appleton, Jerry Appleton, Bobby Appleton, Rob Hudson and Mitchell Tomlinson.
