Campbells celebrate 43rd anniversary

‘Very special happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week to Shady Grove Baptist Church Pastor Brother Tom and Connie Campbell. They will celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary Thur., June 14. I wish both of you a very blessed wedding anniversary and many more happy years!

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week to A.J. Miller Jr. on June 1, Harvey McCleskey and Mathew Campbell, both on June 2, Blake Adams on June 5, David Self, Clay Locklear and Jeremy White, all on June 7 and Courtney Camper and Bella Claire Parker, both on June 9.

Special belated happy wedding anniversary wishes go out this week to J.W. and Pat Franklin. They enjoyed celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary on June 1.

On June 2, the Alabama Fire College received a piece of steel from the World Trade Center to be put on permanent display at the Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial on the campus of the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa. A special escort of motorcycles and various fire fighting vehcles escorted the steel to the Alabama Fire College. A presentation ceremony was held at the memorial and Firefighter Appreciation Day was observed.

I would like to say that it takes a very special person to serve as a firefighter and to put his or her life on the line to save others. I ask God’s blessings upon all of our firefighters all over the United States.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are conducting “Recycle Shady Grove” this month and are asking members to please bring their personal care and beauty containers, Scotch Tape dispensers, pairs of shoes, Elmer’s Glue bottles, sticks/caps, cell phones and outer packaging of Huggies diapers and wipes. The proceeds will go to the Missions Offering. The boxes for these items will be in the foyer by the glass doors and at the back door. All help with this project will be greatly appreciated.

Shady Grove Baptist Pastor Tom Campbell called out the names of 28 students at Danville’s graduation, all of whom applied for Women’s Missionary Union Scholarships. These students will receive $100 when they submit verification of enrollment in an accredited institution.

The students receiving WMU Scholarships are Shaun Bolan, Connor Boyd, Lorrie Burgess, Anna Cagle, Jada Callahan, Jared Callahan, Chelsey Campbell, Alexis Culp, Haley Curtis, Seth Goree, Cristin Hall, Brandy Hoffman, Jessica Hogan, Breanna Holt, Raven Knowlton, Rachel Mahathy, Brandon McAbee, Andrew Nevins, Lukas Puckett, Jessica Raynor, Lacey Roberts, Katelyn Stanley, Cody Thomas, Champagne Thoreson, Justin Turrentine, Jon David Wiley, Perry Wiley and Davey Vest.
