On June 2, the Alabama Fire College received a piece of steel from the World Trade Center to be put on permanent display at the Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial on the campus of the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa. A special escort of motorcycles and various fire fighting vehcles escorted the steel to the Alabama Fire College. A presentation ceremony was held at the memorial and Firefighter Appreciation Day was observed.
I would like to say that it takes a very special person to serve as a firefighter and to put his or her life on the line to save others. I ask God’s blessings upon all of our firefighters all over the United States.
Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church are conducting “Recycle Shady Grove” this month and are asking members to please bring their personal care and beauty containers, Scotch Tape dispensers, pairs of shoes, Elmer’s Glue bottles, sticks/caps, cell phones and outer packaging of Huggies diapers and wipes.
