Holladay, Burroughs, Sherrill lead this week’s stat stuffers

Danville’s AJ Holladay and Hartselle’s Anna Hampton Burroughs had big nights in leading their teams to victory last week. Holladay had 27 in a sub-regional win over Childersburg, while Burroughs had a career-high 25 points in the Lady Tigers area tournament championship game win over Cullman. 

Soccer started last week and Danville’s Layla Sherrill recorded 10 goals in two wins, while Priceville’s Anna Katherine Hopkins netted six goals in two wins. 

Boys basketball 

AJ Holladay, Danville: Holladay finished with 27 points in the Hawks’ 57-39 Sub-Regional win over Childersburg. He scored 13 points in Danville’s 60-51 Area Tournament Championship win over Colbert County.  

Rylan Smothers, Hartselle: Smothers finished with 19 points and five rebounds in the Tigers’ 70-43 Sub-Regional loss to Buckhorn and had 18 points in Hartselle’s 54-42 loss to Cullman in the Area Tournament Championship game.  

Ty Bailey, Danville: Bailey finished with 15 points in Danville’s 60-51 Area Tournament Championship game win over Colbert County and 13 points in the Hawks’ 57-39 Sub-Regional win over Childersburg.   

Huntley Segars, Danville: Segars finished with 14 points in Danville’s 60-51 Area Tournament Championship game win over Colbert County.    

Ty Odom, Hartselle: Odom had 14 points in Hartselle’s 54-42 loss to Cullman in the Area Tournament Championship game and finished with 13 points in the Tigers’ 70-43 Sub-Regional loss to Buckhorn.  

Girls basketball 

Anna Hampton Burroughs, Hartselle: Burroughs finished with a career-high 25 points in the Lady Tigers’ 59-29 win over Cullman in the Area Tournament Championship game. 

Hannah Burks, Hartselle: Burks finished with 17 points and nine rebounds in a 52-30 Sub-Regional win over Lee. She also had 14 in the Area Tournament Championship win over Cullman.  

Mary Frances Itsede, Hartselle: Itsede finished with two double-doubles in the Lady Tigers’ wins last week. She had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the 52-30 victory over Lee and 13 points and 10 rebounds in the 59-29 win over Cullman. 

Gracie Hill, Hartselle: Hill finished with 13 points, eight steals and seven rebounds in the Lady Tigers’ 52-30 win over Lee. 

Abby Langlois, Priceville: Langlois finished with 23 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three blocks in the Lady Bulldogs’ 67-29 Sub-Regional win over St. John Paul II. She also had a double-double, 14 points and 14 rebounds, in a 60-55 loss to Good Hope in the Area Tournament Championship game. 

Lillyan Bloodworth, Priceville: Bloodworth had 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals in the Lady Bulldogs’ 67-29 Sub-Regional win over St. John Paul II. 

Adily Albeti, Danville: Alberti had 14 points and six rebounds in the Lady Hawks’ 66-34 Sub-Regional loss to Midfield. She had 12 points and eight rebounds in a 55-50 loss to Phil Campbell in the Area Tournament Championship game.  

Girls soccer 

Layla Sherrill, Danville: Sherrill had five goals in Danville’s 7-1 win over Haleyville and five in their 6-0 win over Lawrence County. 

Anna Katherine Hopkins, Priceville: Hopkins had four goals in a 6-0 win over Elkmont and two in a 4-3 victory over Madison Academy. 

Brylee Terry, Danville: Terry had two goals and three assists in Danville’s 7-1 win over Haleyville and added a goal and an assist in their 6-0 win over Lawrence County. 

Gracie Rogers, Priceville: Rogers had two goals in Priceville’s 4-3 win over Madison Academy. 

Tori Staats, Priceville: Staats had 12 saves in Priceville’s 4-3 win over Madison Academy and recorded a shutout with eight saves in their 6-0 win over Elkmont 

Wendy Reyes, Danville: Reyes recorded 11 saves in Danville’s 7-1 win over Haleyville and a shutout and eight saves in their 6-0 win over Lawrence County. 

Boys soccer 

Ethan Medendorp, Hartselle: Medendorp had three goals in Hartselle’s 5-0 win over East Limestone 

Owen Bennich, Hartselle: Bennich had two goals in Hartselle’s 5-0 win over East Limestone 

Hayden Denson, Priceville: Denson had two goals in a 2-0 win over Elkmont 

MacLain Lawson, Priceville: Lawson had a goal in Priceville’s 1-1 draw with Madison Academy
