Bobby (Bob) Eugene Anders  

Bobby (Bob) Eugene Anders passed away November 22, 2023, at his home in Forsyth, Mo. Bob was born on July 21, 1937, in rural Morgan County Alabama, the third son of John Forrest and Alma (Murphree) Anders.  The Anders family were farmers and Bob learned the farmer’s work ethic at a tender age, often telling the story of how his father offered him a nickel to finish working a row of cotton.  He worked like crazy to get that nickel and when he got to the end of the row as his daddy handed him the nickel he said, “Now that I know you can do it, you need to stay and keep working.” 

A student when high schools offered vocational training as part of their curriculum, Bob studied to become a machinist and when he graduated from Morgan County High School, he continued to work on the farm with his dad but also was employed by Matthews Machine Shop.  He continued to be bi-vocational for many years farming and working for other companies like GTE, Fruehauf and Chrysler.   

Bob responded to an advertisement and moved to Wichita, Kansas to become a tool and die maker at the Boeing plant there.  During this time, he purchased the Bridgeport mill and created the Anders Machine Shop in his garage.  At the end of his Boeing career, he was the tool and die maker in their research and development department and, along with an engineer in the department, was granted a patent for a Floating Form Die.  

He took early retirement in 1998 when his wife answered God’s call to seminary, and he became Mr. Mom to their young son Sean.  In 2001 when she was ordained, he became a trailing spouse, following her to six different states in the next 18 years.   

His wife introduced him to SW Missouri and Silver Dollar City at the beginning of their marriage and for years he said when he retired, he wanted to go to work for them driving in the parking lot.  At the time his illness was discovered he had been Bob the Bus Driver for Silver Dollar City for over 15 years. 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Alma Anders; brothers Claude A. Anders and James Anders; sister Rachel Ranson.  He is survived by his wife, Dixie; sons Charles (Teresa), Steven (Sherry) and Sean Anders; daughters Debbie Jones and Vickie (Danny) Harville; sisters Doris Jernigon, Marietta Johnson, Patricia Pettus and Gloria Brown; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.   

The service will be December 6, 2023, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Kimberling City at 3 p.m. Internment plans are pending in Alabama.

Mrs. Campbell died on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, her residence.  She was born October 3, 1949, in Blount County, to Billy Jean Bradberry and Lettie
Roberson Bradberry.  She was a loving wife, mother and nana, who loved to crochet and loved her dog, “Prized Diva”, Bella. She was employed by Decatur Morgan Hospital as a nurse’s assistant, prior to her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her husband, William Paul Campbell; son Ronny Shaddrix; brother Joey Bradberry and her parents.
Survivors include sons Jerry Shaddrix (Tracey) and Jeffrey Shaddrix; daughters Donna Cone (Joey) and Tammy Shaddrix; brothers Bubba Bradberry, Mikey Bradberry Buddy Shaddrix sisters Dorathy Heironimus and Deb Schiefelbein eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 

Wanda Lee Alexander  

Wanda Lee Alexander, 92, of Huntsville, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. 

 Wanda is survived by her son Kevin Lee Alexander; her daughters Karen (Tim) Blair, Kathy (Don) McWhorter, Kay (Greg) Lawyer, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

 Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Lee Alexander; and her parents Howard Murphy and Vera Ozelle Wallace Holmes. 

 A visitation for Wanda will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. A chapel funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home, 1901 2nd Avenue, N.W., Cullman, Alabama 35055. An interment will occur at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Eva, Alabama.

Robert D. Haynes

Funeral service for Robert D. Haynes, 81, will be Friday, December 1, 2023
at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at
Peck Funeral Home.
Mr.  Haynes died on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at his residence.  He was
born August 4, 1942, in Morgan County, to Herman Lou Haynes and Hattie Idell Engle Haynes.
He was a loving father and son, who was employed by Teledyne Brown, as a millwright and machinist, prior to his retirement. He was a United States
Marine Corp Veteran who served two years in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing,
playing guitar and will be missed by many.
Preceding him in death were his parents, son, Johnny Wayne Haynes, brothers, Lonnie Raymond Haynes and Donnie Wayne Haynes and a sister, Hattie Beatrice Haynes. Survivors include sons Bobby D. Haynes, Jr. and Scotty W. Haynes; brother Douglas Haynes; and special companion Louise Roper.
 

Robert “Bert” Wigginton
Decatur

Funeral service for Robert “Bert” Wigginton, 67, will be Sunday, December 3,

City Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to
3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Wigginton passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Decatur Morgan
Hospital.  He was born June 13, 1956, in Michigan, to Henry L. Wigginton and
Dorothy Louise Woodall.  He was employed as a computer technician for
Sunrise Network Solutions, prior to his retirement. He was a loving husband,
father and grandfather, who will be missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, Johnny Wigginton and a
sister, Becky Anders.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Wigginton; son Bradley Wigginton (Emily); daughter Heather Barnes (Eric); brothers Phillip Wigginton (Rhonda) and Darryl Wigginton; grandchildren Brooklyn and Brynleigh Wigginton and Maven Barnes; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Jerry W. Cleek
Danville

Funeral service for Jerry W. Cleek, 82, will be Wednesday, November 29, 2023
at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Cleek passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at his residence.  He was
born March 24, 1941, in Madison County, to Ira Thomas Cleek and Dorris
Evelyn Maddox Cleek.
Mr. Cleek was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving from 1957-61 and in the U.S. Army serving from 1961-68, when he then retired, at the age of 26 years old, from wounds sustained in combat. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, driving his tractor
trailer, and loved to make people laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jackie Wayne Cleek, four
brothers, Charles Cleek, Louis Cleek, Erskine Grisby and Phillip Grigsby and
three sisters, Pat Martin, Patsy Cleek Wells and Peggy Cleek Farrah.
Survivors include sons Steven Mark Cleek, Michael Rae Cleek and Ira Thomas Cleek; daughters Shawn Jean Carpenter and LeeAnna Cleek; sister Cathy Roden; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ben Cleek, Brady Cleek, Jackson Cleek, Jordan Smith,
Steven Cleek and Jim Bowen.
 

Anthony Loyd Jones  

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Miller Cemetery. Mr. Anthony Loyd Jones passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at his residence in Hartselle surrounded by his family. Peck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. 

He was born to Fred and Iva Rush Jones on May 23, 1949, in Marshall County, Tennessee. He worked for Crysler Corporation as a supervisor in quality control before retiring. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy and attended Pine View Baptist Church. He loved to play guitar, cook and go fishing. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Robert Lee Carroll. 

Survivors include his wife of 37 years Paulette Norman Jones; sons, Gregory Phillip Jones and Anthony Joseph Jones; daughters, Leslee Jones Campbell (Shawn), Kelly Lynn Copeland (Judson) and Mikayla Rayann Jones; two brothers, Phillip Jones and Ric Jones; one sister, Freda Duggan; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Gearldean “Penny” Guthery Perry  

Ms. Gearldean “Penny” Guthery Perry passed away at Decatur Morgan Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the age of 78. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Guthery on May 31, 1945 in Morgan County, Alabama. She worked as a waitress at Greenbrier Barbeque prior to retirement. She loved to watch Alabama Football, read and absolutely loved her grandsons. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Clarence Eugene Perry 

Survivors include son Tim Perry; daughter Lesley Slaughter (Mike); two grandsons: Drew and Jaxson Slaughter. There are no arrangements at this time. 

Simon Bo Jordan  

Funeral service for Simon Bo Jordan, infant, will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Family officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. 

Little Simon passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at his residence. He was born Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Madison County, to Anthony Ryan Jordan and Carly Williams Jordan.  He was one of God’s little angels.   

Preceded in death by his Maternal Grandpa “Paw Paw,” Brad Williams.  

Survivors include his parents Anthony Ryan Jordan and Carly Williams Jordan; brother Jack Lennon Jordan; sister Meredith Eden Jordan; maternal grandmother Julie Saint; paternal grandmother Teresa Jordan; paternal grandfather Rick Jordan; great-grandparents Tiny Lemmond, Dorothy Clark and Barbara Clark; several aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones. 

Helen Marie James Ikner
Hartselle

A private family graveside service for Helen Marie James Ikner, 95, of
Hartselle, will be at 11:30 on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Johnson Chapel
Cemetery.
Helen was born on September 23, 1928 to Howard Lee James and Mable Gretchen
Sandlin James. She died on December 2, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Our mother taught us to be kind to others, have good manners, showed us by
example to work hard. She was a tough old bird (that’s what she called
herself). That’s how she lived to be 95 years of age. She fought hard
through her illnesses. Her presence will be missed in our lives. She was
loved by her family.

Helen was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a
graduate of Morgan County High School. Helen was the owner/cosmetologist of
The Beauty Spot in Decatur where she styled ladies’ hair for over 30 years.
She resided at Columbia Cottages for more than years.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mable James and a
brother, Charles Lee James.

Survivors include her son Jerald Ikner; daughter Janice Ikner Roberson (Mike); brother: Edward James; sister Freda James Ikner; two grandchildren Chris Ikner (Jessica) and Amanda Roberson Sparkman (Richie) and six great-grandchildren Phoenix, Anna-Grace, Bryant, Ford, Laylah, and Chris.
Pallbearers will be Mike Roberson, Chris Ikner, Phoenix Ikner, Ken James,
Bryant Sparkman, and Ford Sparkman.
We want to thank Dana and Ceaira at Columbia Cottages and all the workers for
the care they gave our mother.
