Marie E. Coleman

A memorial funeral service for Marie E. Coleman, 69, will be at the
Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church, on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 12
noon.
Ms. Coleman died on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
She was born November 23, 1953, in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, to Raymond
Evans and Marie Elizabeth Grzymkowski Evans.
Ms. Coleman was a senior vice president of the finance department of BBVA Compass Bank,
prior to her retirement. She loved and enjoyed anything to do with the
beach, the sounds of the waves, sun on her face, wind in her hair and smell
of sea salt. She loved music and had a very eclectic taste in music. She
enjoyed all Alabama University Sports – “Tide Pride”. She was a numbers
person and loved anything to do with numbers.
Preceding her in death were her parents and sisters, Barbara Ross and
Elizabeth Craven.
Survivors include daughter Michelle Coleman; sisters Ann Fellows, Catherine Craig (Bryan) and Denise Gallops (David); Niece Riki-lin Brown (Cedrick); many nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. 

 

 

Linda Gail Morris
Falkville

Funeral service for Linda Gail Morris, 76, will be Saturday, October 21,
2023 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cody Landis
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Midway
Memorial Gardens.  .
Mrs. Morris died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Summerford Nursing Home.
She was born July 6, 1947, in Morgan County, to Leon Peck Russell and Annie
Iristine Watts Russell.
She was a loving and devoted mother of three and a devoted wife to their
father, Bob. She loved the beach and loved her grandchildren and great
grandchildren dearly. She was employed by Decatur Morgan Hospital as a
Telemetry Technician, prior to her retirement.
Preceding her in death were her Husband, Robert (Bob) Morris, Son, Donald
Lee Morris, her parents, a sister, Charlotte Russell, a brother, Jimmy
Russell and several half brothers and half sisters and a son-in-law, James
Weems.
Survivors include a son Ronald Lee Morris (Penny); daughter Miranda Weems; brothers Eddie Joe Russell (Dianne) and Troy Jackson Russell (Beverly); Sister – Deborah McMurtrie (Mack); eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, Pallbearers will be Ron Morris, Scott Cottingham, James Weems, Hunter Fulghum, Aaron Manchester and James Rollins.
 

 

 

Martha Lee Crowe  

BOWLING GREEN, KY — A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Martha Lee Crowe, 85, will be Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Decatur City Cemetery with Scott Nance officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Crowe died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Colonial Center Nursing Home, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She was born September 10, 1938, in Morgan County, to Richard Hobson Livingston and Sarah Elizabeth Jolly Livingston. Mrs. Crowe was a graduate of Decatur High School in 1957 and was a member of the Honor Society. Martha, in her younger years, loved sewing and gardening. She was employed by The Decatur Daily for a time and also worked at Decatur Grain Elevator but she found her passion through working with the Decatur City School System, where she was an educational advocate for children attending Crossroads alternative school. She brought joy to her students and instilled hope for a future in them. 

Martha was an avid reader, and animal lover, enjoyed Florida beaches and loved Alabama Football. She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother. 

The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Southern Hospice of Kentucky for the special help and care given. Our hearts are heavy as we have had to say “Good-bye” but her spirit is alive and well with her first love, Jesus. She has been made perfect in Him. Hebrew 10:14. 

Preceding her in death was her husband, Jimmy N. Crowe and her parents. 

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Neal Crowe, II; daughter, Jenna Lee Nance (Scott) and three grandchildren, Molly E. Nance, Heath Nance and Maggie Bohlander (Will). 

 

Christopher Stephen Johnson
Hartselle

A Celebration of Life service for Christopher Stephen Johnson, 61, will be
Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00PM at West Hartselle Baptist Church. Peck Funeral Home assisted the family.
Mr. Johnson went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at
Decatur Morgan Hospital.  He was born November 21, 1961, in Morgan County.
to Solomon Juadean Johnson and Martha Lee Neely Johnson.
Chris attended Crestline Elementary and then Morgan County High School, (now
Hartselle High School), where he graduated in the class of 1980. He loved
sports and was an excellent basketball player in high school. He also sang
in the High School Chorus. He attended Calhoun Community College, where he
met his wife, Theresa Stockton, in the music department. They later married
on June 30, 1984. He began working at Cerro Wire in 1983, as an Extrusion
Operator until 2020.
As a young man, he enjoyed playing softball with different leagues and
churches. He became an avid golfer, playing golf tournaments and 4 man
scrambles, winning some along the way. When he got older, he got interested
in photography, where his favorite location was Guntersville, taking
pictures of the eagles. Throughout his life, he was a dedicated Alabama
football fan and a Hartselle Tigers fan.
He and his wife, Theresa, were on staff together at Blue Springs Baptist and
Etha Baptist for several years as he served as youth pastor and her as
Minister of Music. While attending Gum Springs Baptist, he served in many
different ways, while his wife, Theresa, lead the music. After stepping down
at Etha, he and the family went back to the church where he grew up, West
Hartselle Baptist. He was a deacon and Sunday School teacher until he passed. In the last 3 years, he continued to teach his class, through Zoom, from
his home. He loved his class dearly.
He loved his wife and family with all his heart and was a wonderful,
dedicated Christian husband, father and grandfather. He loved Jesus above
all else and had a heart for the lost.
Chris  was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Lee Neely and his
sister, Leigh Anne Johnson Craft.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Theresa Stockton Johnson; sons Hunter Johnson (Abbie)
and Noah Johnson; grandchildren Eliza Johnson and Everlee Johnson; father – Solomon J. Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Nelda Stockton; brother-in-law Billy Craft;
sister-in-law and brother-in law Julie and Jason Nelms. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Gideon’s International.
 

 

Eula Johnson
Hartselle
Funeral service for Eula Johnson, 87, will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 at
11:00 AM at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Bro. Harold Thompson
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  Burial will be in Hartselle
City Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 6:00 PM
to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Cullman Regional
Medical Center.  She was born May 25, 1936, in Cullman County, to James
Monroe Chappell and Izetta Graham Chappell.
She was employed in retail sales for Super X Drugs Store prior to her
retirement. She was a member of the West Hartselle Baptist Church. Mrs. Eula
was a renowned cook and gardener, and she loved to sew. She was preceded in
death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Solomon J. Johnson; son Billy Craft; sister Nell Dunlap; grandchildren Jacob Craft, Hunter Johnson (Abbie), Leah Lawrence (Mitch), and Noah Johnson; great-grandchildren Eliza Johnson and Everlee Johnson; great nephew Trystan Weaver.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Woodruff, Brent Eaton, Russ Woodruff, Danny Jones,
John Skelton, and Trystan Weaver.
  

 

Bryan Harrison Graves

Decatur

Funeral Service for Bryan Harrison Graves, 58 of Decatur will be Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at noon at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bryan Blass officiating with burial in Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Peck Funeral Home directing. Bryan was born April 19, 1965, in Decatur to Bobby Graves and Marlene Dennler Graves.  Mr. Graves passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at Decatur-Morgan Hospital.   He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include daughter Briley Graves (Christian Manganti); father Bobby Graves; brother Brett Graves (Lisa); sister Paige Nix (Brett); girlfriend Cheryl Atchley.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Nix, Tyler Nix, Christian Manganti, Andrew Graves, Alex Mote and Tanner Wilkinson.
