Who can be against us?

By Todd Barrier

In Romans 8:31 the Bible says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [can be] against us?

This verse, especially the tail end of it, is all about the attitude a Christian should have in any situation. The attitude is, if we have God nothing can stop our joy.

There are going to be good days, the days when it is so easy to praise God and stay on the right path. There will also be days when it’s not so easy. When it’s tough to get out of bed, it’s tough to move forward and it’s even tough to praise God. However, if you’ve lived your life with the Romans 8:31 attitude you have prepared for those days. You knew tough times would arrive; Christ even tells us so (John 16:33). He also tells us we can find joy in those times as well, because He has overcome the world. If we can only find joy in certain circumstances, that is worldly happiness, not Godly joy.

Joy can be found in any circumstance because it’s about the blessing God has provided despite the circumstances. Are you ready for the good times and the bad? He will stand with you in both.
