Camp meeting coming to Hartselle

The 117th annual Hartselle Camp Meeting will be conducted at the historic Hartselle Tabernacle campgrounds Sunday-Friday, June 12-17 with two preaching services each day.
Evangelist Junior Hill will open the meeting Sun., June 12, at 7 p.m. Afterward, worshipers will join him at the canteen in the Puckett Dormitory for ice cream and cake to celebrate his 80th birthday.
Phil Waldrep, author, evangelist and conference director, of Hartselle and Paul Lawler, senior pastor at Christ Church in Birmingham will serve as camp evangelists.
Waldrep is scheduled to preach at 7 p.m. Monday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Lawler will preach at 10:30 a.m. Monday, 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, 7 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Brady and Alicia Searl are serving as camp missionaries. They are missionaries to Uganda with World Gospel Missions. They will present a mission service on Wednesday morning.
Rob Cain, student pastor at the Lighthouse in Tuscaloosa and president of Hartselle Camp Meeting Association, will serve as student director. Ron Bean, minister of music at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle will conduct music and Anna Gills of Tuscaloosa will serve as girl’s dorm counselor.
While the Tabernacle is the centerpiece of the camp, activities will be taking place at other facilities. The Puckett Dormitory offers state-of-the-art lodging for students. The Waits Dining Hall provides a clean, air-conditioned spot where diners enjoy some of the finest cooking in the south. The canteen (snack bar) takes place each night after the worship service in a new location– the Puckett Dorm.
Pastor Appreciation Day will be observed Mon., June 13. All pastors eat lunch free after the 10:30 a.m. service. The Student Service will be Wed., June 15, at 7 p.m.
