Funeral for Mary Lou Atkins, 90, of Falkville will be Sun., Jan. 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Bell Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sat., Jan. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Atkins died Tues., Jan. 6, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She was born June 6, 1924, in Lawrence County to George Colombus Cook and Nevada Dunnaway Cook. She was a homemaker, originally from Hartselle, and was preceded in death by her husband, Max Atkins; a son-in-law, Mike McDougal; a brother, Frank Cook; and a grandson, Jeremy Atkins.

She is survived by a son, Larry Atkins (Jennifer) of Leesburg, Ga.; a daughter, Carol McDougal of Tuscaloosa; a sister, Nevada Raley of Vinemont, four grandchildren, John Atkins (Jamie), Christopher Atkins, Michael Atkins and Joel Atkins (Dana); and a host of nieces and nephews.
