Tigers defeat Hawks at home

Tigers run away with early lead

Hartselle‘s Tigers grabbed an early lead and went on to defeat Danville’s Hawks 67-56 in a home game Friday.

The Tigers led 14-13 after one quarter, 28-20 at halftime and 43-29 after three quarters.

Casen Wallace paced Hartselle in scoring with 21 points. Jaylan Jackson added 18 points, Isaac Taylor had 13 points and Dolan Golden had 13.

Brandon McCormick and Alan Cordova each had 15 points for Danville while Drew Fitzgerald added 10 and Andres Cordova had 9.

 

GIRLS: Danville 49, Hartselle 37

 

Danville’s Lady Hawks defeated Hartselle’s Lady Tigers at Hartselle Friday.

Danville led 34-28 at halftime. The Lady Tigers pulled to within two points at 34-32 in the third quarter.

Anna Mathis paced the Lady Tigers in scoring with 10 points. Kayla Key scored 8 points and Allie Roden had 7.

Tara Tuck paced the Lady Hawks in scoring with 13 points.

 

GIRLS: Austin 60, Hartselle 36

 

Riley Terry and Allie Roden scored 15 and 12 respectively, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Austin.

Katie Glasgow also had a 3-pointer while Kayla Key, Anna Mathis and Madison Williams added 2 each.

Tyra Johnson led Austin with 20 while Aaliyah Rice had 14.

 

BOYS: Austin 64, Hartselle 42

 

Austin outscored Hartselle 17-6 in second quarter to build a big lead and cruise to a win.

Josh Pearson led Austin with 15 points while Cameron Reedus had 12.

Hartselle was paced by Tobias Mitchell and Isaac Taylor with 9 each, followed by Dolan Golden with 6, Jaylan Jackson with 5, Kylar Topps and Casen Wallace with 4 each, Jaxon Peebles with 3 and Seth Garner with 2.

 

BOYS: Hartselle 67, West Point 62

 

Hartselle (5-6) had balanced scoring to defeat West Point Saturday.

Casen Wallace led the Tigers with 19 followed by Tobias Mitchell with 15, Isaac Taylor with 12 and Dolan Golden with 10.
