Smyth, Hatcher to wed in January

John and Denise Smyth of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Jaime Denise Smyth of Hartselle to Jacob Andrew Hatcher of Hermitage, TN. Miss Smyth is the granddaughter of Mrs. Davene Smyth and the late Mr. William L. Smyth of West Blocton and Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Carteledge of Birming-ham.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Hartselle High School and attended Belmont University in Nashville, TN where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Voice and Songwriting. She is employed at Centricity Music Publishing in Franklin, Tenn.

The prospective groom is the son of Billy and Sheila Hatcher of Hermitage, Tenn., and grandson of Mrs. Ted Hatcher and the late Mr. Ted Hatcher of Tuscumbia and Mrs. Arlin Ray Hardwick and the late Mr. Hardwick of Sheffield.

He is a 2004 graduate of McGavock High School and attended Tennessee Technological University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta and is employed in management at The Kroger Company in Brentwood, Tenn.

The wedding ceremony will be held Jan. 11, 2014, in Arrington, Tenn.
