Lady Tigers go 3-3 in Birmingham tournament

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers compiled a 3-3 record at the Juanita Boddie Volleyball Tournament in Birmingham last weekend.

The three wins improved the team’s record to 4-3 on the season.

Hartselle posted win over McGill-Toolen, 25-18, 23-24, 7-15; Oak Grove, 25-5, 25-8; and Huntsville, 25-22, 25-22.

Losses were to St. Luke, 25-18, 23-25, 7-15; Hoover, 14-25, 16-25; and Bayside Academy, 22-25, 24-26.

Haley Jared paced Hartselle in kills with 31, She also had 19 digs, seven blocks, six aces and an assist. Taylor Lybarger collected 17 kills, 48 digs, nine aces, two blocks and an assist.

Melissa-Paul Hill had 76 assists, 38 digs, six kills, five aces and three blocks; Sarah Ellen Battles collected 47 digs, a kill, three assists and two aces; Jordan Barber had 33 digs, 10 assists and four kills; and Megan Zuck was credited with 16 kills, nine digs and two blocks.
