A celebration of life service for Francis “Gene” Thompson, 78, of Priceville was Sun., Aug. 4, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ryan Childers officiating.

Mr. Thompson died Fri., Aug., 2, 2013, at his residence. He was born Dec., 26, 1934, to David and Marie Mathis Thompson in Edinburgh, Ind.. Mr. Thompson was a retired Marine Corps veteran. He served in the Korean War and Vietnam War.  He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Dean Russell Thompson; two stepsons, Bobby Greene of Goodsprings, Tenn. and Randy Greene of Eva; a stepdaughter, Lenita Bladow of Hartselle and four stepgrandchildren.
