Deputies observed a vehicle stop short of the checkpoint and the driver and passenger changed seats. When deputies stopped the vehicle and asked the passenger to ex-change seats, the passenger, Douglass Paseur, 26, said he didn’t have a driver’s license.

Deputies observed nervousness and obtained consent to search the vehicle. They discovered a bag of methamphetamine. The driver of the vehicle, Dana Brooke Hodges, 34, said she had several bags of methamphetamine and a meth pipe concealed on her.

Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents were called to the scene. Hodges revealed the drugs and a more detailed search of the vehicle uncovered digital drug scales and thousands of dollars.

Both Paseur and Hodges have prior meth convictions. Agents arrested Paseur and charged him with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Hodges was charged similarly.

After being brought to the jail, Paseur admitted to throwing about an ounce of meth in a ditch. Deputies recovered the meth and his charges may be upgraded.
