Falkville High and Falkville Elementary schools recently held their annual spelling bees.

Falkville High’s Spelling Bee was held on Dec. 4. Chelsie Lee, a seventh grader, won the bee with “particular.”

Ravi Patel, an eighth grader, won second place.

Falkville Elementary’s Spelling Bee was held Dec. 7. The winning word was “primitive.”

Gavin Lee, a third grader, won first place with the word “primitive.” He was also last year’s winner.

Second place was Bryce Bryan, a third grader and his first appearance in the bee. Fifth grader Trent Hill was third followed by fourth grader Savannah Fowler,fourth and fifth grader Manda Shedd, fifth place.
