This has been a beautiful spring. It started in February with early flowers blooming. They were about a month early. Well we had a lovely winter, warmer than usual. I love this time of year. When it’s not too cold or too hot. I can’t stand either extreme.

Everyone is working hard getting out gardens and getting their yards looking pretty too.

Me, I’m at least a month behind as usual. I think I’m getting too old to do this.

I think there comes a time when we have to say, this is it. I’m through with a garden and I’ll grow an upland meadow.

I’m sorry about having no news for a while. Well, I have been busy. I had house guests for a while. Two granddaughters had surgery, one three times in the hospital. So pray for Jennifer Dauthit. She is getting better after two procedures and one surgery.

We recently celebrated birthdays for Brooklyn Terell on April 6 and her little sister Scarlette on April 14. Their grandpa Dwight also had a birthday on April 26.

Journey Church kids had a pancake breakfast and yard sale to raise money for Kids Camp. Thanks to everyone who took part and enjoyed the breakfast, sale and fellowship.

We recently were blessed with three families joining Journey Church. All came all the way from California. We are proud to welcome them to Alabama and certainly to Journey Church.

The Eva Lions Club held their annual pinto bean supper. Tickets were sold on a beautiful quilt the ladies at the Senior Center quilted. Mr. Bert Collins won the quilt.

We were sorry to hear Ola Taylor has been sick for quite a while with this crud caused mainly by pollen. We hope she is better soon.

On Thursday the seniors and friends at Eva Senior Center enjoyed steak sandwiches and all the trimmings and desserts galore sponsored by the Cattleman’s Association. Mr. Robert Dotson, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Childers grilled the beef for us. There were 47 present to enjoy the food. Thanks a million Robert!

Leisha Simmons and her friend Tammy Turner enjoyed camping out at the Guntersville Pow Wow last weekend. They said it was freezing though.

We lost a favorite cousin on Tuesday. George Lindsey, formally of Alabama lost his battle with cancer in Ohio. He was a wonderful friend and cousin.
