Priceville wet?

One vote difference in Priceville

Will Priceville go wet? We’ll have to wait until next week for an answer.
Results from Tuesday’s wet/dry referendum in Priceville show a one-vote difference. There were 476 votes for legalizing alcohol sales, 475 votes against. Hanging in the balance are 17 provisional ballots. Those won’t be counted until Nov. 9 at 11:45 a.m.
Provisional ballots can include a range of things, including a vote from someone whose name doesn’t appear on the registration list or someone who has moved into the city limits but still are still showing as being registered in the county.
Those casting provisional ballots are required to complete a form stating why they’re casting the ballot.
According to City Clerk Kelly Dean, she will work with the Morgan County Board of Registrars and Probate Judge Greg Cain to examine each provisional ballot and determine if the person is a registered voter eligible to vote in the Priceville referendum. If so, then their votes will be counted.
Until that time, however, Dean said the ballots remain sealed.
“They’re in a box under my desk,” she said.
