Funeral for Carrie Lovelle Gibson Smith Rucks, 82, was Monday, Aug. 27, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Rucks died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at Decatur Health &Rebab. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church and was employed at Delphi. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arvle Jackson Smith and Olen "Buddy" Rucks; three brothers, Lewis Lee Gibson, James Hershel Gibson and John Henry Gibson; and four sisters, Lillian Smith, Edith Mitchell, Lorine Hill and Melanie Hill.
She is survived by a son, Jerry O. Smith and wife Anita of Town Creek; four daughters, Martha Brown and husband James, Joan Musa, Debbie Asherbranner and Mary Hand and husband Ricky, all of Hartselle; a sister, Becky Chenault of Decatur; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Brown, Jeff Smith, Jeremy Smith, Andy Smith, Jason Asherbranner and Michael Hand. Granddaughters were honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AseraCare Hospice.
