Funeral for Lurline Minor Isley, 85, of Hartselle was Sunday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond and Dr. Ron Wilson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Isley died Friday, July 6, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Morgan County to Simon William Praytor and Dora Lee Penn Praytor. She and her late husband, Sam Minor, were owners of Minor Furniture in Hartselle for more than 58 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was pianist and organist for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Minor and the Rev. B. B. Isley; a brother, Truman Praytor; and a sister, Jean Praytor Hartselle.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Minor Smith and husband Fred of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Steven Smith and wife Mary Beth of Atlanta, Ga. and Leah Smith Turner and husband Gary of Hartselle; a great-grandson, William Grant Turner of Hartselle; two sisters, Rachel Praytor Baker of Hartselle and Wanda Praytor Harvel of Adairsville, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Mahlon Hartselle of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Barbara Praytor of Moulton; two stepsons, Walter Isley and wife Carolyn of Knoxville, Tenn. and Branson Isley Jr. and wife Linda of Pell City; a stepdaughter, Nina Sinclair and husband, Roy of Gulfport, Miss.; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were nephews.
