By Staff
The Office of Student Financial Services at Calhoun Community College will host the second annual Financial Aid Day March 10 from 9 a.m. -noon in the Noble Russell Building (room 106) at the College’s Decatur campus, and from 9 a.m. -noon (room 154) at the College’s Huntsville/Cummings Research Park campus.
Staff from Calhoun’s financial aid office will be on hand to answer questions and to help students and parents identify financial aid opportunities. Individual assistance in completing the financial aid application process for the 2007-2008 academic year will also be available. Students and parents planning to attend the event should bring their 2005 income tax information (IRS Form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, W02s and/or untaxed income statements), which will be needed to complete the application process.
As part of the application process, applicants for any form of financial aid at the college are required to complete and submit a processed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form in order to qualify for a scholarship. The form may be completed and submitted online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or may be completed during the Financial Aid Day activities.
Current and potential students desiring to complete the online FAFSA process should do so no later than Feb. 24. Information on scholarships, grants, and low interest loans will be provided. The event is free and open to anyone needing money for college.
