James Hoyt Wilbanks

Funeral for James Hoyt Wilbanks, 73, of Falkville was Sun., March 25, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Billy Wilbanks and David Hale officiating.

Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery in Falkville.

Mr. Wilbanks died Fri., March 23, 2012. He was born June 4, 1938, in Lawrence County to Marvin Isom Wilbanks and Ruby Lorene Poole Wilbanks. He was an active member of Faith Chapel Praise Center and a retired truck driver for Wayne Farms. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Wilbanks of Hartselle.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Ora Johnson Wilbanks of Falkville; three sons, James Steven Wilbanks and wife Sue of Eva, David Gordon Wilbanks and wife Lana of Iowa and Brian E. Wilbanks and wife Georgeann of Falkville; a daughter, Judy Kay Wilbanks Cavender of Vinemont; three brothers, Gordon Wilbanks and wife Frances of Hartselle, Gary Wilbanks of Decatur and Billy Wilbanks and wife Margaret of Michigan; a sister, Jewel Sheppard and husband Calvin of Hartselle; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Brian Wilbanks, David Wilbanks, Wade Wilbanks, Dylan Wilbanks, Danny Sheppard and Keith Sheppard.
