The Alabama Department of Public Health joins the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in observing the week after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27-Dec. 3, as National Influenza Vaccination Week.
This event is designed to raise awareness of the importance of continuing influenza vaccination and to foster greater use of flu vaccine through the months of November, December and beyond.
The health department expects to receive additional doses of vaccine in the coming weeks, and all Alabamians are encouraged to be immunized. County health departments are expected to have more than 100,000 doses of influenza vaccine available statewide by Nov. 27.
