The Hartselle High School fishing club had its best team finish to date, as the club took third place at its first competition of the year.

While no team finished in the top three, each of the club’s five teams were able to catch their limit of fish.

The club was led by the team of Bobby Puckett and Drew Copeland with 8.8 pounds. Garrett Jones and Brantley Wiley also had a top 10 finish with 7.93 pounds.

Tom Chapman and Grant Jared took 35th place with 5.14 pounds. Justin Mayfield and Jamo Maxwell caught 4.23 pounds of fish. Grant Shelton and Adam Allen also caught 2.98 pounds of fish.

The fishing club is sponsored by Oh’Bryan’s, Miller Motor Co., Shelton Construction, Eddie Preuitt Ford, People’s Bank and Fredrick’s Marine.
