Segars pitches gem for Hartselle

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers picked up their 22nd win against 12 losses by defeating Austin’s Lady Black Bears 4-1 in a home game on Monday evening.
Breanna Segars gave the Lady Tigers a command pitching performance.
She allowed just seven hits in seven innings while striking out five and walking two.
The win improved her season record to 11-5. She also contributed two singles, scored a run and knocked in a run.
Haley Johnson was tagged with the loss. She pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits while striking out four.
Shanice Johnson paced the Lady Tigers in hitting with a pair of singles in three times at bat. She also scored a run. Audrey McClanahan singled in two runs and scored a run and Catie Keel had a double.
Austin’s Carrie Hosier led her team at the plate with a pair of singles.
Hendersonville (Tenn.) 5
Hartselle 4
Hendersonville scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to knock off Hartselle (21-12) at the Bob Jones Varsity Tournament Friday. The Lady Tigers committed four errors in the loss.
Curtis took the loss, allowing five runs but just two were earned.
Orr had two RBIs in the game and Shanice Johnson and Lindsay Robinson each had one RBI. Keel scored two runs and Johnson and Curtis each scored a run.

Russellville 3
The Lady Tigers improved to 2-2 in area play with a road win over Russellville April 5. Mary Curtis took the win, striking out four and allowing two hits in five innings of work as Hartselle broke out to a 4-0 lead after 5.5 innings.
The Lady Golden Tigers then scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth and one in the bottom of the seventh, just falling short of their comeback attempt.
Breanna Segars was 2-for-2 with two RBIs in the game and Kayla Orr had a solo home run. Emily Jackson also had an RBI.
