Funeral for Jewell Davis Childers, 79, of Danville will be Thursday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Don Crumpton, Curtis Stanford, Charles Oden and Gerald Childers officiating.
Burial will be in Upton's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Childers died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at Summerford Nursing Home from Alzheimer's complications. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Matthew Childers; one great-grandchild, Cavan Stanford; four brothers and one sister. She was a member of Walden Chapel Baptist Church. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring employees of Summerford Nursing Home.
She is survived by three sons, Danny K. Childers and R. Bradley Childers, both of Danville and Franklin D. Childers of Decatur; two daughters, Charlotte J. Dobbs and husband Frank W. and Linda S. Brown and husband D. Lamar, all of Danville; a brother, David Davis of Randolph; a sister, Gusta Morgan of Dothan; 14 grandchildren, Dawn Arnold, Traci Young, Brandi Bolan, Kim Stanford, Kelly Johnson, Melody Oden, Misty South, Jeff Childers, Brandon Latham, Matt Childers, Andrea Escue, Jacob Byford, Terry Dobbs and Belinda Dobbs; 14 great-grandchildren, Stashia Bolan, Shaun Bolan, Krysta Bolan, Caleb Stanford, Cole Johnson, Lane Johnson, Clay Johnson, Treyce Oden, Skylar South, Savannah Dobbs, Will Dobbs, Keaton Childers, Jared Childers and Sarah Faulkner.
Pallbearers will be Chad Bolan, Jeff Childers, Curtis Stanford, Rodney Bullard, Rodney Johnson, Shannon South, Charles Oden and Matt Childers.
