James Frank Stewart III

Funeral for James Frank Stewart III, 76, will be Sun., Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Ray Halbrooks and the Rev. Robert Sparkman officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Oct. 8, from 6-9 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Stewart died on Fri., Oct. 7, 2011, at Brookwood Medical Center. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Morgan County to James Franklin Stewart, Jr. and LaZelle (Lovelady) Stewart. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Hartselle from 1963 until 1995, was a cattle farmer and was active in many cattle organizations, as well as various civic organizations in Hartselle. He graduated from Auburn University in 1957 and was in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He is survived by his wife of 53 Years, Virginia Ann Stewart of Hartselle; two sons, Dr. Barry Stewart and wife Cathy of Hartselle and Steve Stewart and wife Cindy of Hoover,; a daughter, Suzanne Anders of Hartselle; and six grandchildren, David Stewart, Laura Stewart, Allison Stewart, Reid Stewart, Forrest Anders and Lane Anders

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church capital fund.

Pallbearers will be Art Glasgow, Stewart Bennett, Mike Anders, Randy Garrison, Blake Tanner and Walton Ashwander.
