Funeral for George Monroe Lindley, 87, of Hartselle was Wednesday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Pine Street Baptist Church in Falkville with the Rev. Roger Ammons officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Lindley died Monday, April 25, 2005, at his residence. He was born June 12, 1917, in Morgan County to George William Monroe Lindley and Mary Elizabeth Gibbs Lindley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruby Lindley of Hartselle; five sons, Clifford Lindley of Hillsboro, Ricky Lindley of Eva, Ray Lindley, Jimmy Lindley and Curtis Lindley, all of Hartselle; four daughters, Francis Coburn of Russellville, Deborah Cathy Lindley of Moulton, Peggy Sue Jones and Kay Cobb, both of Hartselle; one brother, Luther Lindley of Piney Grove; 23 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rathel Lindley, Michael Cobb, Chris Ball, Alton Weaver, Steve Coburn and Jim Jones.
