Lady Tigers JV wins Hartselle tourney

The Hartselle Lady Tiger junior varsity softball team won its second tournament in two tries this season, as they won the Hartselle Junior Varsity Invitational last Saturday. The Lady Tigers had won the season opening Grissom JV tournament, also.
Hartselle 3, Thompson 0
Breanna Segars threw a two-hit shutout, while striking out six batters.
Kristy Pevahouse singled in the first run and came home on Kayla Orr's two-run homer. In the second inning, Hartselle added another run when Holly Starr walked and came in to score on a throwing error.
Katie Staudt added a single.
Hoover 2, Hartselle 1
Mary Curtis threw a complete game surrendering four hits and striking out one batter.
Orr had another home run and Shauna Clemons had a single.
The loss was only the second of the season of the Lady Tigers.
Hartselle 5, Florence 1
Orr threw a no-hitter, while walking four. The Florence run was unearned. It came on an error following a walk.
Pevahouse had two hits, including a double and scored two runs, while Orr had two hits, including a triple and scored twice.
Nina Halbroooks, Rachael Fleischman and Staudt had one single each.
Hartselle 6, Cullman 2
Whitley Collins threw six innings of three-hit ball, while striking out six batters to pick up the win.
At the plate, Orr had one hit and scored once, while Collins scored one run after reaching on an error. Shauna Clemons scored twice, while Kayla Byford scored one run.
Meagan Beck had a RBI double and later scored, while Pevahouse had one RBI and Fleischman had a three-run double.
Hartselle 3, Athens 2
Mary Curtis struck out 10 batters in seven innings to record the win. At the plate, she walked and scored one run.
Pevahouse had a single, a walk, stole two bases and scored twice.
Hartselle 9, Hoover 1
The Lady Tigers avenged an earlier loss with an eight-run fifth inning.
Curtis threw another seven inning complete game to pick up the win.
She allowed five hits and struck out five batters.
Pevahouse and Jackson had one hit and scored one run, while Orr had one hit, one run and a RBI.
Fleischman, Shauna Clemons and one hit each.
Fulmer and Holly Starr scored one run each, while Byford had a RBI.
Halbrooks and Curtis had one hit, scored one run and drove in one run a piece.
Staudt had one hit, scored twice and drove in a run.
The win upped Hartselle's record to 11-2.
