Funeral for Freddie Mae Call Laughmiller, 96, of Falkville was Saturday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at Falkville First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Kenneth Weldon and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Laughmiller died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 1, 1907, in Morgan County to James Henry Call Jr. and Julia K. Jennings Call. She was a member of Falkville First United Methodist Church for about 55 years, where she was a member of the chancel choir, worked in the nursery and taught vacation Bible school. She served several offices of the Women's Organization, including president. She was employed as a school lunchroom supervisor for 18 years at Falkville, Morgan County High and Flint Schools in Morgan County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm; her sister, Beryl Steenson; and two granddaughters, Cathy Garner and Peggy Boyd.
She is survived by one son, David Laughmiller of Decatur; four daughters, Mae Garner and Evelyn Helms, both of Hartselle, Mary Davis of Tuscaloosa and Martha Byrd Hall of Brundidge; 15 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Falkville.
