Funeral for John Floyd Poole, 88, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), April 8, at Friendship Baptist Church at Upshaw in Winston County with the Revs. Billy Jackson and Glenn Wood officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at Addison.
Mr. Poole died Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1915, to Tom Poole and Annie Garnett Poole. He was a World War II veteran in the 69th Infantry Division and was retired from Champion Paper Co. He attended the Church of God. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Poole, Lewis Poole and Buford Walker; and two sisters, Ethel Jarrett and Eva Chenault.
He is survived by his wife, Polly Poole of Hartselle; two sons, Edward Floyd Poole of Hillsboro and Bennie Steve Poole of Hartselle; one brother, Calvin Poole of Decatur; and two sisters, Lorene Wilbanks of Hartselle and Bertha Hamilton of Falkville.
