PRICEVILLE – The Falkville Blue Devils spoiled the party.
The Priceville Bulldogs played the first game in their new stadium, but Falkville took home a 3-1 victory.
The game was the 2A-Area 15 opener for both schools. Each team now has a 2-3 record on the season.
Falkville threatened in the top of the second getting two base runners on with two outs. The rally ended for the Blue Devils with a strikeout that left two men stranded.
The Blue Devils scored first in the top of the third inning. Zac Ferrell led off the third with a single and moved to second and third on groundouts. He scored on a RBI single to left field by Ryan Summerford.
Falkville increased the lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning when Ryan Summerford singled and stole second base. Summerford came home on Ross Summerford's double to the gap in left-center field. Jeff Grandstaff singled Ross home for a three-run lead.
Priceville collected their only run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Both teams were aggressive on the base paths as six bases were stolen in the game, three by each team.
Kevin Russell started for Falkville and pitched four and two-thirds innings to pick up the win.
Priceville hosts Danville March 11 at 3:30 p.m.
