Strickland, Drake exchange vows
Stacy Lane Strickland of Montevallo and Dr. Bradley Steven Drake of Birmingham were married May 24, 2003, at Gabrella Manor in Birmingham.
The Rev. Brooks Barkley officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rowe Strickland of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Michael Drake of Hartselle.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a diamond white, formal strapless ball gown. The corset-style bodice was accented with Swarovski crystals, sequins and pearls. The A-line skirt was finished with a sweep train. Her tiara of rhinestones and pearls held the French illusion cathedral veil. Her bouquet featured white roses tied with silver ribbon.
Ashley S. Wood, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Paige Nicole McDaniel of Auburn was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Carrie Rowe Marler, sister of the bride, of Athens, Whitney Gail Wright of Hartselle, Amanda Abbott Drake of Birmingham, and Sarah Rebecca Williams of Birmingham.
Sarah Brenton Crow of Hartselle was flower girl. Maggie Elizabeth Crow of Hartselle was ring bearer.
Jason Michael Drake, brother of the groom, of Birmingham was best man.
Groomsmen were Matthew Peyton Strickland, brother of the bride, of Hartselle, Steve Glenn Wood of Hartselle, Joshua Adam Drake of Hartselle, Clay Collin Griffin of Birmingham, and Glenn Adam Gilbert of Ft. Walton, Fla.
Jonathan Blake Wright of Hartselle was an usher.
Music was provided by Music Excursion of Birmingham and The Figure Eights Band of Atlanta.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Gabrella Manor. Beth Newman Long was wedding director.
Jamie Waldrep of Trinity attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Jamaica. They will reside in Hartselle.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents was held May 23 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Birmingham.
