A celebration of life for Gloria Davis Cobb will be announced at a later date. She died Friday, December 23, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on August 23, 1941 to Edward and Alice Mardirosian in Wayne County, Michigan. Gloria Cobb absolutely loved her grandchildren; they were her world. She loved golf, Alabama football and spending time with her family at the lake. Mrs. Cobb was a member of the Elks lodge and Falkville United Methodist Church. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Cobb; stepson, Chuck Cobb; sister, Linda Mardirosian, and grandparents, Mihran and Takoohy Mardirosian. Survivors Include daughter, Michelle Davis Baker; son, Michael A. Davis III (Julie); stepdaughter in-law, Teresa Cobb; seven grandchildren, Ben Baker, Joshua Baker, Caleb Baker, Luke Baker, Dalton Davis (Julia), and Hank Davis; bonus family, Tiffany (Dustin) Hart and their kids, Davis and Cora Jayne.

Funeral service for Shannon Kelly McBride, 63, was held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Serbian Orthodox Church with Father Gregory Shultz officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Committal service was held at 1 p.m. in Piney Grove Cemetery. Mrs. McBride passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her residence. She was born August 2, 1959, in Broome County, New York, to Jossepll Francis Kelly and JoAnn Mariz Matoushek Kelly. Mrs. McBride was a graphic artist and designer for J E A Graphics, prior to her passing. She was very involved in local food production, helping people learn to grow their own food and assisting area farmers meet the federal regulatory requirements. She started the Pinehardt Homesteaders and was the founding administrator of the Facebook group, North Alabama Gardening Group. She was a loving, supporting wife and loved her children dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include husband, William Lee McBride; sons, Matthew Aston and Anthony “Tony” Aston. Pallbearers were David McBride, Michael McBride, Tommy Smith, Matthew McBride, Chris Champion, Clark Haynes, Jordon Dawson, Caleb Eversol and Charles Malmede. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Michael’s building fund or to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. 

Julie Davis

A graveside funeral service for Julie Davis, 45, was held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Sellers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery. Mrs. Davis passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  She was born November 7, 1977, in Morgan County, to Junior Cox
and Sandra Woodall. She was a homemaker for her family and worked as a CNA on a part-time basis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Cox, a sister, Rita Cox and a son, Keith Davis. Survivors include husband, Brian Davis; mother, Sandra Woodall; daughter, Shelby Davis; brothers, Phillip Cox, Matthew Cox, Stanley Cox (Joyce), and John Cox; sister, Karen Woodard (Steve) and in-laws, Jimmy and Mary Davis.  

Keith Bishop

Funeral service for Keith Bishop, 85, was held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Dobbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in New Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Bishop died Sunday, December 25, 2022 at UAB Hospital. He was born February 23, 1937, to Jeff Wallace Bishop and Helen Maybell Bostwic Bishop. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring with 20 years of service in the military and after serving in the Vietnam War. He loved his family dearly. He was married to his lifetime love, Fran, for more than 67 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Bishop and a granddaughter, Tosha Buckland and his parents. Survivors include wife, Frances Lorance Bishop; son, Malekye Buckland; daughters, Kathy Garza and Shayla Buckland; brother, David Bishop; sister, Judy Sebron; grandchild, Sierra McDaniel; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were family and friends.
 

James H. “Howard” Morrow

Funeral service for James H. “Howard” Morrow, 88, was held Tuesday, December
27, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Brindlee Mountain Church of God with Bro. Fred Nichols officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Hough Cemetery. Mr. Morrow died Friday, December 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 19, 1934, in Morgan County, to Robert Wesley Morrow and Minnie Mae Phamer Morrow. He was an electrician for Chrysler, prior to his retirement. His wife, Betty Morrow and his parents preceded him in death. Survivors include
sons, Timothy David “Tim” Morrow (Nicole) and James Benjamin “Benji” Morrow; daughter, Tammy Morrow; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren. The family served as pallbearers.

Ruth Roberson (Robbie) Quinn Stephenson was born May 16, 1929 in Hartselle, Ala. and passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at The Terrace at Priceville. She was the daughter of Charles Quinn and Wilma Kent Quinn, who preceded her in death. Robbie was a lifelong resident of Hartselle, graduating from Morgan County High School, and receiving her degree from Auburn University. She was an English teacher at Morgan County High School early after marrying Robert Nelson Stephenson, who is deceased. She also worked at her family’s wholesale grocery store, Hartselle Wholesale Grocery, through most of her adult life. She loved gardening and bird watching. She and Robert were major supporters of the First United Methodist Church in Hartselle, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the bell choir. Robbie is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Stephenson and son-in law, Clint Stockett. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Lee Stockett and Carol Ann Stephenson Bates; son-in-law, Lee Arthur Bates; a brother, Charles Quinn and his wife, Mary; three grandchildren, Megan, Colin
and Clare Stockett and a great grandchild, Ava Stockett. Funeral service for Robbie Quinn Stephenson, 93, was held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Hartselle First United Methodist Church with Bro. Mike Pope and Bro. Doug Wells officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was held in Hartselle City Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandchildren, Megan, Clare and Colin Stockett and nephews, Kent Quinn, Tom Brown and Clay Brown. The family requests that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to the First Methodist Church Choir fund or to Southern Care Hospice. 

Terry Nelson Chesnut

Mr. Terry Chesnut, 74, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at River City Center. He was born July 8, 1948, in Winnebago County, Illinois, to Carl Orland Chesnut and Bertha Frieely Chestnut. He was a machinist for Rockford Products, prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include girlfriend, Stephanie Barber; sons, Keith Chesnut and Matthew Chesnut; daughters, Jolinda Bittinger and Molly Sides. There will be a memorial service at a later date held by his family.
 

Billy Gene Dixon

Funeral service for Billy Gene Dixon, 71, was held Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Mr. Dixon died Friday, December 30, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 19, 1951, in Oregon, to Billy Eugene Dixon and Iva Beatrice Meadows Dixon. Bill had a big heart and would help anyone at any time. He attended Victory Fellowship Church in Falkville. He loved farming, cattle farming and really loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He served in the Vietnam War and was a retired U.S. Army veteran. He also worked for Wolverine Tube and was a cattle farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife, Kathleen Dixon; daughters, Tammy Holmes and Becky Gaboya (Detrek); loving brother to a host of brothers and sisters in Oregon and Idaho; five grandchildren, Sarah Sides, Joshua Sides, Danielle Wood, Justin Wood and Devin Gaboya; four great grandchildren, June Parks, Anastasia Sides,
Reagan Styles and Kameron Wood.
