Priceville duo sets school records in win over Madison County

GURLEY – Two Lady Bulldogs broke school records in Priceville’s 60-16 win over Madison County.

Sophomore Leslie Hames hit a school record 10 3-pointers while finishing with a game-high 30 points. She also had seven steals. Senior Zoey Benson pulled down a school-record 17 rebounds.

Lauren Hames added 12 points, six rebounds and five steals, while Gracin Potter and Abby Langlois had five points and seven rebounds each.

The Lady Bulldogs held Madison County to five first-half points while building a 32-5 first-half lead.

Cullman 66, Priceville 65

Priceville dropped their first game of the season in a one-point loss on the road at 6A Cullman on Friday.

Leslie Hames scored 22 points and had nine steals to lead the Lady Bulldogs (4-1). Lauren Hames added 15 points, while Abby Langlois had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Ava McSwain had a game-high 28 points to lead Cullman.

West Point 62, Danville 34

Visiting West Point raced past Danville 62-34 last Friday night.

The Lady Hawks were led by Elisabeth Hand, who had seven points and three rebounds. Alyssa Brooks scored six points, while Adily Alberti added five points and five rebounds.

Addison 64, Falkville 59 (2OT)

Falkville came up short in a double-overtime loss to Addison by a score of 64-59.

Ellie Cate Hill had 24 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to lead Falkville, while Ella Wallace had 11 points. Liza Wallace finished with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Hadley Butler scored a game-high 32 points to lead Addison, while Gracie Manley added 27 points.

Falkville 57, Athens Bible 34

Falkville picked up a 57-34 win on the road at Athens Bible.

The Lady Blue Devils were led by Ellie Cate Hill, who scored a game-high 21 points. She scored her 1,000th career point in the victory. Liza Wallace added 11 points and six rebounds for the Blue Devils (5-2).

Brooke Blakely led Athens Bible with 18 points.

Brewer 48, Brindlee Mountain 32

The Lady Patriots (2-7) snapped their seven-game losing streak with a 48-32 win on the road at Brindlee Mountain.

Freshman Blakely Faulkner led Brewer with 16 points and seven rebounds. She hit four three-pointers. Chloe Romine added 10 points, while Lilly Yancey pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds.

Autumn Abernathy’s 14 points led Brindlee Mountain.

Arab 62, Brewer 30

Brewer fell behind 19-6 and trailed 36-13 at the half in their 62-30 loss to Arab.

Yancey scored nine points and pulled down six rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots (1-7). Romine added seven points, while freshman Madisyn Freeman had six.

Bennett Elrod led Arab with 16 points, while Bryleigh Bodine had 10.
