Lady Hawks steal win over Tharptown

DANVILLE – The Danville Lady Hawks picked up a 58-29 win over visiting Tharptown in the first game under new head coach Mallory Alberti this past Friday.

The Lady Hawks (1-0) defense dominated the game, finishing with 29 steals in the victory.

Maddie Sherrill and Alyssa Brooks each had 12 points to lead the Lady Hawks. Sherrill also had seven rebounds and five steals. Olivia Vest finished with five points, seven rebounds and seven steals. Reagan Prater and Adily Alberti each finished with six steals.

New Hope 64, Brewer 28: New Hope jumped out to a 19-9 first-quarter lead and never looked back on their way to a 64-28 win over visiting Brewer.

Chloe Romine led Brewer (1-2) with six points, while freshman Madisyn Freeman added five points. Freshman Ava Walls led the team with five rebounds.

West Limestone 55, Brewer 38: The Lady Patriots fell 55-38 in their first home game of the season.

West Limestone broke open a close game at the half, 20-18, by outscoring Brewer 35-20 in the second half.

Chloe Romine led Brewer (1-1) with 13 points and five steals. Jacey Atkinson and Lilly Yancey had six points each, while Bailey Hale added five points and ten rebounds.
