The Hartselle High School Class of 2022 celebrated their upcoming graduation May 6 with the annual Awards Day during which scholarships were awarded and students were recognized for their academic achievements.

Students were also awarded their graduation cords for completing requirements for the various career academies. 33 seniors were recognized as members of the 30-plus Club, for students who have earned a 30 or above on the ACT.

Principal Brad Cooper said that number, that continues to grow each year, speaks volumes about the quality education students received in Hartselle City Schools.

“It really is amazing. I know much larger, high-performing schools (that) do not have near that number,” Cooper said. “Our teachers and parents hold our students to expectations – and they (continue to) rise to those expectations.”

Altogether, the 252 seniors in the Class of 2022 earned $4 million in scholarships, including $25,000 awarded by local organizations.
