Lady Tigers grab lead in sixth inning to defeat Bob Jones

The Lady Tigers ran off with the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Bob Jones Friday.

The game was tied at three, with the Lady Tigers batting in the top of the sixth, when Jada Henderson’s sac fly scored one run for Hartselle.

Bob Jones captured the lead in the first inning, but Hartselle evened things up at three in the top of the fourth inning. Lillyanna Cartee hit a solo homer.

Jenna Smith was the winning pitcher for the Lady Tigers. She went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six.

Hartselle hit two home runs on the day: Cartee had a dinger in the fourth inning, and Larissa Preuitt had a homer in the third inning.

Preuitt also went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Tigers in hits.
