Hartselle High School’s Student Government Association will be hosting its annual “trick-or-treating” canned food drive for the Caring Place Oct. 26.
That night, students will be trick-or-treating in Hickory Heights, Woodward Square, Glenwood Subdivision, Ausley Bend, Booth Meadows, Booth Ridge, Lakeshore Subdivision and all the subdivisions behind Sparkman Park. Students plan to go to every house, but they encourage those who want to donate to leave the canned food on their front porch.
For those who would like to donate but do not live in these locations, there will be collection bins at HHS Oct. 19-27.
SGA is also hosting a competition at HHS among the grades, and the class that collects the most canned food will receive ice cream sandwiches during an extended break time.
SGA encourages all members of the community to donate.
