Friday Night Roundup: Priceville drops close one at West Morgan, Brewer and Danville fall on the road

Priceville scored first but couldn’t hold on in their 7-3 loss to West Morgan on Friday night.

West Morgan opened the game with an eight-minute drive but turned the ball over when they couldn’t convert on fourth down at the Priceville eight-yard line.

Priceville took over with 3:58 to go in the first quarter and went on an 18-play, 72-yard drive that resulted in a 37-yard field goal by JJ Vallejo. Jerry Burton had runs of 33 and 12 yards in the drive.

The Rebels answered back with a five-play, 65-yard drive capped off by a 26-yard Glavine Segars pass to Caleb Terry to put the Rebels up 7-3.

The Rebels held on to win the game after both teams failed to score in the second half.

Burton finished the game with 140 yards on 26 carries.

“I thought our defense played well enough to win,” said Priceville coach Chris Foster. “However, it is a team game and our offense did not execute well enough to come out on top. Hats off to West Morgan, they played very well and made the plays necessary to win.”

Priceville (1-1, 0-1) will host Brooks (2-1, 1-0) on Friday night while West Morgan (1-2, 1-0) travels to Deshler (0-2, 0-1)

Colbert Heights 37, Danville 0: The Hawks fell behind early and couldn’t recover in their 37-0 loss on the road at Colbert Heights (2-1, 1-0).

Ardmore 48, Brewer 7: The Patriots traveled to Ardmore for a region match up with the Tigers on Friday night.

Ardmore jumped out to a 41-0 lead at halftime.

The Patriots got on the board late in the fourth when Gonzalo Ramirez scored on an 11-yard run to make the final score 49-7.
