Books of the Week July 27 – 31

TitleOne Day in the Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Tree

Author: Daniel Bernstrom

Illustrator: Brendan Wenzel

Book level: 3.9

This is a fun book along the lines of “The Old Woman who Swallowed … books.

It starts with a boy with whirly-twirly toy who walks into the shade of a eucalyptus tree – and a very hungry snake finds him.  After the snake swallows the boy, the boy convinces the snake he is still hungry and there is plenty of room in his belly and there must be something else he can eat. Of course, the greedy snake keeps going until he has eaten too much.

The illustrations in this book are bright and colorful, making this a wonderful storytime book. I hope you will stop by the library soon and check this one out!

Title: “Macramé For Home Décor: 40 Stunning Projects For Stylish Decorating

Author: Samantha Grenier

Macramé is making a comeback, with new and trendy styles for your home or to give as gifts.

This book covers 12 essential knots that are used, along with the different types of materials to make the knots. The 40 projects have step-by-step directions and beautiful color illustrations.

The skill levels range from easy to advanced.

There are several projects I would love to try myself.

We hope to see you soon at the William Bradford Huie Library of Hartselle and hear about any crafts you have tried.
