The Haleyville Lions scored on their first 9 possessions on their way to a 63-19 win over the Danville Hawks last Friday night in Haleyville.  Lion quarterback Connor Kiser ran for one touchdown (15 yards) and threw for two more (15, 22 yards) in helping lead Haleyville to 28 first quarter points.  Jonas Dodd was the recipient of both TD throws.  Kiser would throw for two more scores in the 2nd period including one with just a second left in the 1st half to give Haleyville a 49-0 lead.

The two teams traded touchdowns in the 3rd period with each team scoring twice.  Danville took the 2nd half kick and drove 68 yards in 7 plays for its first score of the night.  Hawk freshman RB Kane Hogan ran 5 yards for the TD.  Logan Jaep added the PAT.  Hogan also had runs of 24 and 11 yards on the drive.

Peyton Colburn scored the other Danville touchdown on a 5 yard run.  Colburn set up his score with a 59 yard run.  The two-point try failed making the score 56-13 in favor of the Lions.

Backup QB Will Evans scored both Haleyville touchdowns on runs of 2 and 13 yards respectively to give the Lions a 63-13 lead going into the final period.

Danville would get the only points of the 4th period when Hogan ran 11 yards for the touchdown.  The try for two failed.

Danville will close out the 2014 season with a visit to longtime rival Falkville.  This will be the 40th meeting between the two schools.  Falkville won last year’s contest 42-28 but Danville leads the overall series 23-16.  This will be the third meeting between the two on Halloween.  Danville won the previous two meetings 25-13 and 51-15 in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
