July 29, 1960-Tonight was youth night at the Laymen’s Crusade for Christ currently in progress at MCHS’s J. C. Pettey gym. Special seating was designated for attending teens.
July 29, 1960-State investigators and an officer from Morgan County Sheriff Knox McRae’s staff have joined Hartselle police in attempting to find the perpetrators of the recent robbery of the Trolley Car Café here. The Ford dealership was also burglarized at about the same time.
July 30, 1960-Guy Roberts, head of the Morgan County governing body, is in Nashville tonight for the opening of Texas Senator Lyndon B. Johnson’s vice-presidential campaign. Sen. Johnson was Sen. John F. Kennedy’s surprise choice for veep at the recent Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles.
July 30, 1960—Morgan County Probate Judge Cliff Almon, who chaired Alabama’s delegation to the DNC, is calling on every Democrat here “to close ranks and work together to get the Republicans out of the White House.”
July 30, 1960-One rural Falkville man shot another tonight. The individual arrested on a murder charge claimed that he fired his gun accidentally after the victim sought to arrange a date with his wife.
July 30, 1960-William Clemons died early this morning at his home on Hartselle 4.
July 31, 1960-Falkville Baptist Church screened a Billy Graham evangelistic film at tonight’s service.
July 31, 1960-The Crusade for Christ ended tonight. The crusade has been well attended, with crowds reaching as high as 1,000-tonight’s attendance figure.
July 31, 1960-A man who lives on Hartselle 3 was locked up in the Morgan County jail today after the shooting of his father-in-law. Fortunately, the victim of the shooting is reported to be in satisfactory condition at Hartselle Hospital. The shooting affray apparently followed the heavy consumption of alcohol by family members.
July 31, 1960-Adolph Rausa, 56, passed away in Chicago late last week. Mr. Rausa’s Hartselle survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Bobby Martin, and a brother, Frank Rausa. Mr. Rausa was a member of the Catholic Church and his funeral will be at Sacred Heart in Cullman on Wednesday with arrangements being handled by Peck.
Aug. 1, 1960-Dr. Reginald C. Bedingfield, a 1949 MCHS graduate, opened a dental practice in Decatur today. Dr. Bedingfield was a member of the U.S. Army for several years and then worked as a lab technician at Chemstrand prior to beginning work on his DMD degree which he received a few months ago from UA.
Aug.  1, 1960-Building on the recent crusade, 42 Hartselle men met tonight at Gladys’ Restaurant to discuss the establishment of a Businessmen’s Committee for Christ here. Enquirer publisher Jack Hoffhaus was chosen temporary chairman of the new organization. Initially, the group plans to have a prayer breakfast every Saturday morning.
Aug. 2, 1960-Mrs. Minnie Templeton, 78, passed away at her home here tonight. Funeral services will be at the Hartselle Church of God tomorrow. Pallbearers will be Harold Elliott, Dewitt Gatlin, Curtis Orr, Guy and Olin Spivey, and Comer Tankersley.
Aug. 3, 1960-Hartselle merchants have recently been the victims of worthless checks being passed by a Huntsville couple. Fortunately, Morgan County sheriff’s deputies have arrested the alleged lawbreakers and they are currently in jail.
Aug. 4, 1960-The annual interdenominational camp meeting began at the campgrounds south of Hartselle tonight.
Aug. 4, 1960-The yearly reunion of the Sandlin family was held today at Wheeler Dam. The Sandlin Clan was started by Monte Sandlin back in 1935.
Aug. 4, 1960-Mrs. Ethel Vest sends greetings from Naples, Italy, that she is thoroughly enjoying her vacation with her daughter, Mrs. Ben Scarbrough, and family.
