DHS hires Oldacre

By By Todd Thompson, Hartselle Enquirer
One area head coaching vacancy has been filled, while several other coaching positions opened this week.
Danville hired former Brewer assistant coach Doug Oldacre as the head boys’ basketball coach this week.
Oldacre replaces Robert Pope, who retired at the end of the school year.
Oldacre has been a key assistant for the Patriots’ boys’ basketball program.
Several other recent moves have left schools without coaches. Brewer head baseball coach Jeff Thompson and assistant coach Chris Creel’s resignations were accepted by the Morgan County School Board earlier this week.
Also at Danville, Lady Hawks head volleyball coach Holly Little won’t return this fall. She will remain as the junior varsity basketball coach at the school.
Hartselle assistant volleyball coach Michelle Kelso’s resignation was accepted by the school board at a meeting this week.
Hartselle junior high boys’ and girls’ soccer coach Nanette Edde also resigned her position.
