A $2,000 gift from Love’s Travel Stop is going to be used to upgrade technology in Falkville’s police department.
Love’s presented a check for $2,000 to Falkville VFW Post 10774 at its recent grand opening along with a request that the money be used to support a worthwhile community improvement project. The VFW post in turn agreed to place the money in the hands of the police department, and a transfer of the money was made last Friday.
Police Chief Chris Free said the money would be used to purchase a computer server and software.
Free noted that another big improvement is in the making for his department.
