Funeral service for Bernice K. Allen, 57, of Hartselle was Sat., Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jess White officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Allen died Thur., Aug. 16, 2012, at her residence. She was born Thur., Feb. 3, 1955, in Jefferson County to George Morgan Kizziah and Brazzie Mae Humphries Kizzaih. Mrs. Allen was born and raised in McCalla. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Hartselle. She attended McAdory High School in McCalla and retired from Walmart in Hartselle. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Roger D. Allen of Hartselle; two sons, Jared Allen and wife Desiree of Falkville and David Allen and wife Tamera of Elmore; three brothers, J.L. Gwin and wife Crystal of Alford, Fla., Frankie Whitehead and wife Donna of McCalla and Frederick Whitehead of Umatilla, Fla.; four sisters, Betty Headrick of West Blockton, Fla., Georgann Bratton and husband Ricky and Debbie Sue Lyke, both of McCalla and Bobbi Carroll of Port Charlotte, Fla; three surviving grandchildren, Colby Allen, J.C. Allen and Caleb Allen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley.
