Stephenson, Kimbrell wed
Susan Lee Stephenson of Hartselle and Nathan Daniel Kimbrell of Somerville were married April 19, 2008,at First Christian Church in Hartselle.
Rev. Jerry Smith presided.
The bride is the daughter of Doug and Lou Ann Stephenson of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Elizabeth Kimbrell of Somerville.
The sanctuary was decorated with spring arrangements of calla lilies, tulips and roses. The altar featured one large arrangement flanked by two wrought iron candelabras. A special candle arrangement was placed in memory of the bride and groom’s grandparents. The large stained glass windows were adorned with candles and floral arrangements.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal gown of ivory silk taffeta.
The gown was fashioned with a heavily embellished molded bodice. The neckline was V’d and fastened at the neck with a beaded halter. The natural waistline was emphasized by a shirred set-in cummerbund that dropped to a deep basque at the back.
The soft princess skirt was adorned with beaded medallions and featured a split drape at the back. It swept to a cathedral length train. Her imported cathedral veil of French tulle was trimmed with a sterling silver thread and crystal beaded rolled edge. It was monogrammed with the bride’s initials and was held in place by a matching bridal bandeau.
The bride carried an all-white bouquet of calla lilies, roses and tulips. The bride also carried a handkerchief that belonged to her grandmother, Carolyn Sharpley Logan.
Summer Hodges Lower of Durham, NC was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Marisha McReath Pressley of Anderson, Ind., Tiffany Ann Wells of Hartselle, Christen Stephenson Hines of Hartselle and Cynthia Danyel Stephenson of Hartselle.
The bridesmaids wore tea length dresses of honeydew green chiffon and carried spring bouquets of roses, tulips and calla lilies.
Gregory Brent Cole of Fort Worth, Tex. was best man. Groomsmen were Wesley Walker McCuthcheon of Somerville, Dallas Wade McCutcheon of Somerville, Brad Lee Curbow of Somerville and Brandon Otis Moore of Orange Beach.
Scott Logan Stephenson of Birmingham was candlelighter. Scripture reader was Erin Kendrick Stephenson of Birmingham. Nathan Lane Horton assisted with the communion. Nathan Horton gave the communion prayer. Dustin Stephenson and Dylan Stephenson were bell ringers.
Kathy Shell was pianist. Musical selections were recorded by the bride.
The reception was at Burningtree Country Club.
The bride’s cake was a four-tier butter cream cake with fresh flowers between each tier.
The bride’s table featured a lace tablecloth topped with her mother’s bridal veil.
The groom’s table had an Alabama football theme with a tribute to Bear Bryant. The table featured a cake that was a replica of Bear Bryant’s houndstooth hat, cheesecakes and chocolates.
Wedding directors were Cherie King and Amy Robinson.
Guests were greeted at the reception by Carolyn Halford and Charlotte McReath. Assisting with the bride’s table were Shirley Wells and Robin Hodges. Assisting with the groom’s table was Toni Couey.
Attending the bridal book were Leah Elizabeth Stephenson and Olivia Ann Knox.
Amanda Carolyn Blakeney was program attendant. Entertainment was provided by Randall Key and Combo.
After a honeymoon trip to Lake George, NY and Niagara Falls, Canada, the couple is residing in Hartselle.
