Speck experiences adventures at ALCOM

James Speck, a junior at Priceville High School, has a keener understanding of what the personnel at Redstone Arsenal are doing to support American troops overseas after participating in a weeklong “Adventures at ALCOM” program earlier this summer.

He and 18 other high school students from North Alabama also had the opportunity to get a close-up view of all of ALCOM’s business and logistics area, participate in problem-solving sessions and learn about career opportunities at the Arsenal.

“Our objective is to make sure that the best and brightest from around here know that they do not need to leave town to pursue a successful career, no matter what path in life they choose,” said John Pearson who works for the Army Education Outreach Program. “James is the first Morgan County student selected to participate in the program and he certainly lived up to the criteria that’s used to make selections. He’s a bright young man with a promising future.”
