Funeral for Jimmy Ray Keenum, 71, of Danville was Thursday, Apr. 3, at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Ledbetter, Phil Waldrep and Tommy Bolan officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Keenum died Tuesday, Apr. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born Nov. 20, 1936, in Lawrence County to Charlie Keenum and Julie Mag Bynum Keenum. He graduated from Speake High School in 1955 and married Betty Bolan Dec. 24, 1955. He retired from the Noland Co. after 45 years of service. He was a member and deacon at Enon Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Bolan Keenum of Danville; two sons, Tim Keenum and wife Lisa of Toney and Greg Keenum and wife Darla of Danville; a sister, Burnell Waldrep of Decatur; two grandsons, Jonathan Keenum and David Keenum, both of Toney; a granddaughter, Chelsea Keenum of Danville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Gary Ledlow, Dillard Jones, Ronnie Jones, Mark McCaghren, Larry Keenum, Roger Keenum, Charles McCaghren and Howell McCaghren.
Honorary pallbearers were Odean Long and deacons of Enon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Enon Baptist Church Building Fund, 3293 Co. Rd. 209, Danville, AL 35619 or Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205.
