Funeral for Mary Marie Motes, 17, of Decatur was Sun., June 24, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Crowell officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Miss Motes died Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She was born Oct. 26, 1994, in Morgan County to Marlin David Motes and Susie Cowart Motes. She was preceded in death by her father, Marlin David Motes; grandparents, Mary Jean Cowart, Calvin Motes and Doris Motes; and an aunt, Penny Wren.

She is survived by her mother, Susie Motes; two brothers, C. J. Motes and John Phillips; grandfather, James Franklin Cowart Sr.; uncles, James Cowart and wife Sheila Harper, Jimmy Cowart, Timothy Cowart and wife Miranda, Thomas Cowart and wife Heather Kirby, Boyd Motes and wife Gloria, Johnny Motes and wife Cindy and Danny Motes and wife Linda; and an aunts, Beverly Maxwell and husband Randy.

Pallbearers were Thomas Cowart, Timothy Cowart, Riley Owens, Preston Motes, Joseph Wren and Justin Motes.
